  • Q: What is the SAS Law School 'Learning Club'?

A: It is a club where its active members can undertake various courses, such as accounts, business, IT and law free of financial charge. The membership is a life time membership and costs £99.00.

  • Q. How does it work?

    A. Instead of paying a course fee members earn their courses by doing voluntary work for our law school. the voluntary work involves attending court trials and hearings as an International Court Trial reporter for our school, and producing reports for the school. Each report submitted earns the member a credit. As their credits build up the member can redeem them for the cost of a course.

  • Q. Will you train me to be an International Court Trial Reporter for your school?

    A. Yes we will train you. It usually takes about 4 weeks depending on how much time you choose to give to the training e.g. 6 hours or more a week.

  • Q. Is the training free?

    A. Yes! it is completely free of charge.

  • Apart from receiving credits for the reports I submit, are there any other benefits that I will gain from doing court trial reporting for your school?

A.Attending court trials, producing reports of the cases attended builds a great deal of confidence and self esteem. On top of those personal development qualities you will be learning and practising exciting new skills, such as Targeted Listening Skills, Content Analysis Skills, and Legal Note Taking Skills to name but a few.

  • Q. How can your International Court Trial reporting help me get a job?

    A. Engaging in International Court Trial reporting is a way to raise your profile in the Job market. By adding that something unusal, special, and prestigious to your cv/resume it may just get you noticed long enough to get you an interview. And when on the interview your experiences as an ICTR may just get you the job.

  • Q. Is there a minimum number of court trial reports I must do each month? A. No, there is no minimum or maximum, it is entirely up to you.

  • Q. What if there are no courts within easy access of where I live, is there any other way that I can earn credits to pay for my courses?

    A. If there are no courts within fairly easy access of where you live then contact the school and we will give you an alternative way to earn your credits.

  • Q. Can I choose to pay for a course if my circumstances change; for example if I come into some extra cash?

    A. Ye you can always choose to pay or part pay for a course at any time, it is entirely up to you.

  • Q. After paying my £99 'life time' membership fee will there be any other charges I will have to pay?

    A. No! Once you have paid your life time membership fee of £99 you will not be asked to pay a further fee unless you decide that you want to pay or part pay for a course. For example lets say that you have half of the credits you need for a particular course and you come into some extra cash, to speed things up you may want to pay the remaining 50% in cash. It is always up to you.

  • Q. Will you be adding other new courses?

    A. Yes! Each year we plan to add new courses. For example some time during 2012 we are planning to add a law degree programmethere to the learning club's library.

  • Q. If I am not sure if the 'Learning Club' will be good for me, is there some kind of free trial that I can try before I decide to join?

    A. Yes! If you go to our home page you can download part one of a two part course without registering and leaving any details. Simply click on the download button and enjoy the course. It is a legal based training course that will teach you some legal skills.
